Starting ranges—not one-size-fits-all recipes.

pH, EC, light and harvest ranges are crop-specific planning guides. Irrigation timing changes with system type, growing media, temperature, plant age and root mass. Continuous-flow or misting systems do not use the same timer cycle. Validate live conditions and adjust gradually.

Crop-growing FAQ

What to know before you grow.

Simple answers for choosing a crop, planning your space and setting realistic expectations for the first harvest.

Are these settings exact recipes?

No. They are starting ranges. Adjust from live pH, EC, temperature, plant age and root-zone response.

Basil, butterhead lettuce, arugula, mint, bok choy and microgreens are marked Beginner in the library. They are forgiving, finish quickly and show progress within a few weeks.

Yes, with planning. Tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and cucumbers need stronger light, physical support, pollination, pruning and longer crop cycles, which is why they are marked Advanced. Choose compact varieties and match them to your system.

No. Every Nutraponics system is open: use the seeds, growing media and hydroponic nutrients you prefer, with no required proprietary pods or growing subscription.

It depends on the crops you want most. Pro Shelf and Pro Tower Garden are the recommended pathways for the widest range in this library, including fruiting crops that need support. Compare capacity, lighting and footprint before you choose.

Towers grow vertically in a small footprint and suit leafy greens and herbs around the column. Shelves give you reachable rows, integrated lighting and a nursery, which helps with taller or trellised crops. Our comparison page sets the options side by side.
